Essam Mohammed Sayed Darwich was born in Cairo April 28, 1970. He received his Ph.D. in Art, specializing in sculpture from the Arts University. Thereafter, the dynamic Darwich did not hesitate to take part in numerous things related to Art. In 1990, he took part in the Arts movement. In 1998-1999, he participated in Aswan symposium of Granite Carving in the third session and the fourth session. In 2003, he participated in the first Iron symposium in the Alexandria Library.

Essam Darwich is also an award winning artist, winning the first prize in sculpture in the National Competition for Plastic Art, the sculpture’s prize in “Youth’s Gallery”. He won the sculpture’s prize for designing a project in Galaa Square, he also won the first prize from the artist Kamal Ebeid in the “Exhibition of Sculpture from Nature”. Darwich currently works as a professor in the Sculpture Department in the Faculty of Art Education in Zamalek.
